Our guidance program is designed to facilitate our educational program by helping our students get the most out of their elementary school years.  We want them to be as well-adjusted as possible. We want to prepare every student socially, emotionally and academically for present and future challenges.

This is my nineteenth year at Cottondale Elementary, and I am proud to say that being a counselor here has taught me more than I ever learned in college.  I am proud of our children and our faculty and staff. I love working with parents and teachers to help each child have a good day every day.

 I teach each classroom guidance lessons on honesty, study skills, career guidance, social skills and self-awareness. I work with students in small groups to help them adjust when they have personal issues that are hampering their learning. I see students individually.  I am also in charge of the testing program and the Adopt-a-School Program.
